national park service
visitor center & pop up shop
Boston's Faneuil Hall is home to one of National Park Service's (NPS) visitor centers and shops. Unfortunately, the building closed for repairs and NPS was temporarily relocated to a nearby location across from the Old State House. The temp space consisted of cubicles, gray carpets, and beige walls. The challenge was to transform it into a warm, welcoming environment to greet Boston visitors and direct them to the historic sites around the city. And to do it in 4 weeks.
I worked with the Visual Dialogue team to bring the space to life through super graphics and interior design solutions. My primary focus was on the exterior treatments featuring an illustration (by Markus Magnusson) of a friendly park ranger who immediately gets the attention of passers-by and a path of arrows and a list of historic sites that leads visitors around the corner to the entrance.
